Blooming dangerous!
Flower boxes in full bloom at a pedestrian island at the busiest junction on Strand Road have become an unlikely source of complaint from pedestrians.

It has been claimed the flowers at the junction outside Sainsbury’s are impeding the vision of pedestrians trying to cross Strand Road.
They were placed there by Derry City Council to improve the look of the road this summer.
But several pedestrians have contacted the Derry News complaining that they cannot see oncoming traffic.
“I would normally obey the light signals, but it’s good to be able to see oncoming traffic.
“The flowers are nice to look at, but at the minute you cannot see past them because they are in full bloom,” one pedestrian said.
