There were outdoor events held in the Glen, Elaghmore, Leafair and Ballyarnett Country Park, over the weekend.

Spirits remained high and the fun days were hailed a success by all.

Organiser of the two day Earhart Festival, Ollie Green, told the Derry News: “It was great to see so many people come along despite the rain bucketing down on Saturday. We must have had between five and six hundred people there.

“Everyone was really upbeat too and all events went ahead as planned. It was a fantastic atmosphere.”

Mr. Green added that the Barney show was a big hit with the younger children on Saturday, whilst older audiences enjoyed outstanding performances from local musicians Sarah Griffin, Aoife McDaid and Michael Doherty.

Furthermore girl band Hope also proved to be a popular attraction.

The weather faired a bit better yesterday for the remainder of the festival.

Local people enjoyed a vintage car rally and athletics events and there were bouncy castles for the youngsters.
