Durkan goes digital

The Foyle MP Mark Durkan has launched his new website, designed to keep constituents up to date with both his work locally and at Westminster.
The site – www.markdurkan.ie – was launched at the weekend at Claude’s Internet Café on Shipquay Street.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Durkan said he was delighted with the site, adding that he had already received positive feedback about the project from both constituents and other representatives.
“A great deal of work has gone into my new MP website by Waterside-based IT company IEB Software and I am delighted with the result,” he said.
“IEB has developed a stylish and functional web solution for my role as Foyle MP.
“They were eager to understand what I wanted from an online campaigning tool and worked hard to deliver.
“While I still do receive many handwritten letters from people who prefer to put pen to paper, a great many people find it more convenient to send an email.
“The website will make contacting me – and keeping-up-to-date with the work I am doing on behalf of constituents – that little bit easier.”
He added that the site would boast other features such as up to date details of ongoing campaigns.
“The website has also been designed to include electronic versions of my MP newsletter and integration of local news with Google Map to display the work I’m doing in various locations throughout the constituency,” he continued.
“I will also be using the website to provide more comprehensive information about the motions I have signed at Westminster and the various issues I am campaigning on in Parliament.”
