DERRY’S youngest Country and Western star is set to melt hearts after wowing the audience at his first ever gig.
Tommy Donegan, 10, took to the stage for the first time last Saturday night to belt out classics to adoring Country fans.
Young Tommy grew up listening to Country music and comes from a musical family, cutting his teeth with his uncle’s outfit, The Simon Donegan Country Band.
His Dad, also called Tommy, said he was brimming with pride at his son’s flawless first performance at The Ramble Inn, Antrim.
“He was performing with all live music, he was singing with a live band,” he said.
“The whole place came to a complete stop when he got on the stage and started singing.”
“They were all cheering away for him, it was brilliant!”
Tommy Senior said his young namesake seems cut out for a career on the stage and has been walking on air since he sang his heart out for his appreciative audience.
“He’s running around now on a high,” he said.
“He’s on Cloud 9, he’s got a few more bookings already but they’re not for a few weeks yet.”
