FIRM COMES TO SHELTER’S RESCUE
A Derry security firm has offered it services free of charge to a local animal shelter that has been robbed three times this year.
In the latest attacks, thieves broke into the Rainbow Shelter two weeks ago and stole over 30 bags of dog food worth over £500.
Estate Services security group have now offered to do nightly patrols of the Eglinton premises to keep it safe from further attacks.
Helen Davies, founder of the shelter, paid tribute to Estate Services who also replaced all the stolen food.
“We were overwhelmed when Chris McKnight of Estate Services got in touch and offered to help in this way,” she said.
“We are a charity and we could never afford to pay for security as our budget is so tightly stretched, so for them to offer to do it out of the kindness of their hearts means a lot.
“It will give everyone at the shelter great peace of mind and it will be great for the dogs to have some company at night too.”
