A taxi driver last night described his miraculous escape after two large rocks were thrown through the windows of his car in Derry.
The attack took place shortly before 9pm on Saturday as the man was driving through Bishop’s Gate in the city centre.
One of the rocks shattered the windscreen of the car while another was thrown through the driver’s window.
Although badly shaken, the driver was not injured. He was not carrying any passengers at the time.
It’s understood a number of other cars were attacked at the same spot by people who were seen running off through a pedestrian gate into the Fountain estate.
Speaking to the Derry News last night, the taxi driver, who did not want to be named, said it was a terrifying experience.
